Johnson + Southerland worked with the community to design a unique playground that is terraced into a complex site at the forest/parkland interface of historic Seward Park. The playground introduces children to forest exploration themes and features both giant plant forms and tiny animal home sculptures as well as play experiences up and down slopes and through trees. This playground has been called “spectacular and innovative” by Seattle Parks Foundation and “probably the best playground in Seattle.”
