J+S worked with school administration, staff and the PTSA of this Seattle Public School to develop a long-range campus master plan. The plan was the basis for defining levy funding for the school. The school’s vision for itself is to become a leader in innovative high-tech learning environments and to expand its program to K-8. The plan was developed over two day-long workshops. Discussions covered new teaching environments, trends in classroom design, the existing buildings, potential for site improvements and the community’s vision for their program. The plan addresses site security, increases assembly space, adds a gymnasium and central administration offices. and defines a clear point of entry for visitors and students.
