J+S helped SPU implement 12 blocks of right-of-way raingardens that are reducing combined sewer overflows and improving fish habitat in Longfellow Creek. We are continuing to work with SPU on a neighborhood system of raingardens in the Thornton Creek Basin to address localized flooding problems and reduce the pressure on maxed-out storm sewer. The goals for these projects are to effectively handle storm water, contribute a unique sense of identity to the neighborhood greenway and become a source of pride to the community.
